National Conference on Recent Developments and Evolving Trends in Plasma Science and Technology & Pre-conference Workshop on Modelling and Simulation of Industrial Plasmas

About the conference

The National Conference on Recent Developments and Evolving Trends in Plasma Science and Technology and Pre-conference Workshop on Modelling and Simulation of Industrial Plasmas is being jointly organized by Department of Physics Bharathiar University, Coimbatore and Beam Technology Development Group, Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC), Mumbai in association with the Power Beam Society of India (PSI), Navi Mumbai during September 22-24, 2022 at Coimbatore.

The conference is designed to provide a forum for young researchers in the area of Plasma Science & Technology to interact with eminent plasma scientists from India and abroad as well as to present their recent research findings. The conference includes presentations by international experts in emerging frontline research areas of Plasma Physics and Plasma Technology. The scientific program of the two-day conference will consist of invited topical lectures and contributed oral and poster presentations in the following areas.

  • Plasma generation & Plasma devices
  • Plasma technology in nuclear industry
  • Diagnostics, modelling and simulation of plasma
  • Plasma applications in energy and environment
  • DBD plasma for industrial applications
  • Plasma CVD & Plasma coatings
  • Waste treatment & Industrial applications
  • Low pressure plasma and surface treatment
  • Plasma for medical and agricultural applications
  • Plasma ore beneficiation & Recovery of metals

The one-day pre-conference workshop consists of invited lectures and tutorial on modelling and simulation of industrial plasmas such as thermal and non-thermal plasmas for research students and young faculty.

About Bharathiar University

The Bharathiar University was established at Coimbatore by the Government of Tamilnadu in February 1982 under the Bharathiar University Act, 1981 (Act 1 of 1982). University Grants Commission (UGC) recognized Bharathiar University in 1985 for grants. The University has 39 Departments, offering 54 post-graduate programs besides offering M.Phil. and Ph.D. programs.

The University affiliates 133 colleges. The NAAC has accredited the University with an ‘A’ Grade in the third cycle assessment. Times Higher Education Young Universities World Ranking ranked BU in the range of 201 to 250. About PSI

Power Beam Society of India was founded in 2003 to promote, to advance the awareness and to spread the highly specialised Electron, Laser and Plasma Beam Technologies across India. The Society brings together scientists and technologists working on the equipment and applications of power beams. The Society has been organizing symposia and schools in the PBAMP series (Power Beams and Material Processing), SEBTA series (Symposium on Electron Beam Technology and Applications), PPT Series (Schools on Pulsed Power Technology), several one-day special purpose meetings at various universities and research institutes all over India in its effort to promote and encourage research activists in Electron Beam and Plasma Science and Technology.
