Vice-Chancellor's Message

The collaboration between universities and industry is increasingly perceived as a vehicle to enhance innovation through knowledge exchange. Even though institutions provide necessary knowledge to work in the industry, still the industries feel that the academic knowledge and domain skills are fragmented and lack efficient comprehensive training. To address this gap, we encourage a systematic procedure to develop the skill set of students, with the enhancement of domain skills thorough collaborative learning programmes with industries and institutions, which include hands-on training programmes, certificate courses with practical training in industries, applied research projects and consultancies.

As industries gain insight through BU-CUIC, the students can build their research and real-world experience, which allows both the parties to rely on each other for their strengths. These mutually beneficial partnerships can produce ground-breaking research and innovation that solve complex problems, drive economic growth, and create a more skilled workforce. By striking up corporate partnerships, universities have more resources to undertake research and they are able to diversify their research areas. Collaborating with universities allows the companies to “de-risk” their research. While universities and industry enjoy a symbiotic relationship, society also benefits from a trained workforce answering today’s most pressing challenges and creating technology to improve lives. Additionally, the centre will enhance the training and skill development to the students for employment. BU-CUIC will work for the supply of skilled workforce to the job market by enhancing the soft and domain skills of the students for possessing competency in the relevant field.
