Fuzzy sets and Systems | Fuzzy sets play a vital role in the development of both linguistic and numerical modeling: fuzzy rule-based systems. Fuzzy rule-based modeling has been combined with other techniques such as neural nets and evolutionary computing and applied to systems and control engineering, with applications to robotics, complex process control and supervision. Our research is about stability analysis of fuzzy dynamical systems which include the following problems: stabilization of fractional order fuzzy system, stabilization of fractional order financial system, stabilization of fractional order fuzzy financial system, and stabilization of fractional order fuzzy tumor system. And these problems are studied by using Lyapunov's second method of stabilization. Further, different types of fault tolerant controllers are proposed for the aforementioned problems. |
Similarity measures |
In many practical applications of computer vision, there arises a need In such cases, the computation of distance or similarity measures becomes essential to distinguish the similarity between two sets. These measures are very common in many applications that deal with matching-related problems. To find the similarity between the two sets the match value, fuzzy similarity, distance measure, measures of fuzziness, and entropy are calculated between fuzzy sets and fuzzy elements. These fuzzy measures are useful when we deal with fuzzy data. In fuzzy database and information retrieval, a query data is allowed to match with the data in the database and if the matching degree, that is, the similarity measure value, exceeds a specified threshold, then the data is retrieved. In many image-processing tasks such as region extractions, image retrieval, edge detection, clustering we utilize fuzzy-based similarity measures to compare two images. |
Medical image processing | The environment of medical imaging has changed dramatically by changing from analogue to digital technology. The widely used techniques are computed tomography (CT), Doppler imaging, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), functional MRI and many others. The main task of image processing is converting the pictures into digital form. A diversity of problems in image processing range from image perception to image interpretation. Low-level image processing is concerned with the pixels, which initially enhances or filters the image, that is, it preprocesses the image. The next level of the image processing is concerned with the regions in the image. Here, the features of different regions or objects are extracted. The next process is high-level processing where the whole or parts of the image or series of the images are considered. The images are segmented for classification and recognition and finally interpretation. In the high level, the knowledge of experts is involved in making decisions. Different types of fuzzy membership functions, fuzzy operators, fuzzy measures are used in processing the medical images. The medical image fusion using the fuzzy method blends the multi-modality images into a single image and obtains excellent visual quality without any vagueness. |
