Department of Communication & Media Studies - Programmes Offered

The Two-year course work in the Master’s Programme in Journalism and Mass Communication is distinct whose leverage lies in the development of skills through rigorous training imparted to exploit the modern media of communication technologies, in consonance with optimum impetus on the theoretical framework. Maintaining a total strength not exceeding 30, the eligibility to join this course is any Bachelor’s degree (10 + 2 + 3 pattern). 

The Department also offers M.Phil/Ph.D in Journalism and Mass Communication for students who have passed a PG Course/Master’s Degree with minimum 55% (5% relaxation for SC/ST candidates in the minimum eligibility) marks in the qualifying exams. Moreover, passing a minimum of 10 marks out of 35 is mandatory to get eligibility for admission to the research coursework.
