Centre for Internet & Website Services of Bharathiar University is responsible for maintaining the University website, website content uploading, email account and providing internet facility at University campus. Internet facility is provided to all the faculty members, research scholars, students and officers of the University through 1 Gbps connectivity of National Knowledge Network (NKN) through BSNL.
The optical Fiber cable connectivity of about 12.5 Km for academic and hostel buildings were established with WiFi facility through University fund, Campus Local Area Network project of National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT), and PURSE (Phase II) program of Department of Science and Technology (DST).
The campus network includes OFC of 12.5 Km, Juniper Router, Fortinet 1000 D Firewall, CISCO and DAX Core Switchs, WiFI Controllers, 205 indoor and outdoor WiFi Access Points. Three servers and all networking components are powered with two numbers of 10 kVA UPSs.
To get WiFi facility the user has to submit a form to data center which is available in the University website or HOD / Officer has to send a mail (datacenter@buc.edu.in) with details of newly joined students / members to Data Center.
