Department of Linguistics - Major Facilities

A weekly research forum titled “Saussure’s Knowledge Factory” is conducted every Thursday, fostering academic discussion and scholarly interaction among research scholars and faculty.

The department is equipped with a phonetic laboratory consisting of 41 desktop computers and one server duly connected with online networking system. This laboratory helps the students and research scholars to take up all kinds of researches related to language and linguistics. Access to INFLIBNET facilities and intranet system of Bharathiar University add advantages to this laboratory. 

The department maintains a well-equipped library with over 3,000 books covering linguistics and allied disciplines. It also houses a valuable collection of Ph.D. and M.Phil. theses.
Modern reprographic facilities are available, supporting teaching, learning, and research activities.
