Entomology Lab
The broad areas of Entomology lab is including vector control, pest control using bioactive compounds.
Toxicology Lab
The main theme of Toxicology Lab is assessment of toxicity of contaminants like heavy metals, pesticides, microplastics, etc., using freshwater fish as an animal model.
Crustacean Biology Lab
The crustacean Biology lab is focusing the research on the area of the diversity of aquatic animals and aquaculture. Classical and molecular taxonomy of freshwater and marine crustaceans, aquaculture nutrition are the unique area of this laboratory.
Aquatic Biotechnology Lab
Aquatic Biotechnology Lab is focusing research on fish immunology, fish diseases, larval rearing and Nutrition, Bio-enrichment of live feed organisms and also we are working on probiotics as an alternative therapy for colon cancer. We set up the demonstration hatchery for the culture and rearing of edible and ornamental fishes and we will provide training to Self - help group members and aquaculture farmers.
Conservation Biology Lab
Conservation Biology Laboratory focusing research on Molecular Taxonomy of Insects, Insect Pest Management, Medical Entomology, Insect Toxicology, Vector Biology, Taxonomy of Mites and Molecular taxonomy of Mites.
Disease Proteomics Lab
The Disease Proteomics Laboratory for Clinical Research is assigned to the development of proteomic methods for disease diagnosis / prognosis and the identification of novel bio-signature and therapeutic candidate molecules of human disease.
Aquatic Ecology Lab
The Aquatic Ecology laboratory focuses the researches on the ecology of aquatic ecosystems which including marine, estuaries, freshwater, wetlands, and saltpans. Current research topics include ocean acidification, assessment of the occurrence and impacts of microplastics and nanoplastics pollution in aquatic fauna, monitoring of heavy metal pollution using shellfishes, aquaculture nutrition and mariculture.
