Department of Education(School of Distance Education)

The School of Distance Education of Bharathiar University was established during the Academic Year 1991-1992. The School of Distance Education at present has more than 190 spot admissions cum leaning information centres spreading over 23 states and offer various job oriented programmes ranging from Diploma to Post Graduate programme to cater to the needs of different levels of aspirants, thereby help to achieve Higher Gross Enrollment Ratio in higher education.

Department of Education (SDE) was established in the year 2009. It has well qualified and experienced faculty. The B.Ed. programme through Distance Mode for Bharathiar University is offered by the School of Distance Education (SDE), approved by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) and Distance Education Council (DEC) with an annual intake of 500. The programme is designed specifically for in-service teachers who wish to enhance their teaching skills and techniques.
