Department of Textiles and Apparel Design

The Department of Textiles and Apparel Design was established in 2011 and funded under UGC-Innovative Programme during the XII plan period (2012-2017) offering M.Sc. Textiles and Apparel Design. In 2013 M.Phil and Ph.D programmes were introduced. The department has five qualified faculties specialized in multifarious fields of textile research. The thrust areas of research include Natural Fibres, Natural Dyes, Technical Textiles, Medical Textiles, Garment Designing, Nonwovens and Composites, Textile Dyeing, Functional Finishes, Herbal Finishes and Sustainable Textiles.

Future Plans

• To provide customized academic programs that nurtures, motivates and inspires excellence in teaching and research, along with concern for the society.
• To serve as a knowledge and skill hub for the professional development of students.
