Research support

Bharathiar University also supports research by providing seed money for the development and enhancement of research infrastructure to meet international standards. The University provides annual grant of Rs. 20–30 lakh for every Science Departments, and Rs. 5–10 lakhs to Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences. Students and faculty members pay visits and take up research training in abroad institutions collaborated with Bharathiar University periodically with research and in-person support from the University. The University also encourages research by engaging DST-Fast Track fellows, DST-WOS, UGC-Kothari fellows, UGC SC/ST Postdoctoral fellows, and CSIR Research Associates and awards University Research Fellowships for meritorious scholars. The number of such research fellows in the University stands at 830 for the period 2017–2022.
