Department of Extension, Career Guidance and Student Welfare - Programmes offered

The Two-year Master of Career Guidance is a professional programme. The main purpose of this programme is to prepare the students as career counsellors and guide to develop a global as well as a national vision for education and employment. The programme provides opportunities for students to extend as well as deepen their knowledge and understanding of education, guidance, counselling, psychometric test, organising career exhibitions, understanding of source of information for guidance and employment opportunity, Placement  and skill assessment at school, college and industry level for early and midcareer.

Duration of the Course: This is a full time course for 2 years with four semesters under Choice Based Credit System. The course comprises of 60% skill + 40% theory.

Learning Method: A hands-on training on career diary preparation, School and college career counselling, Intern with employment office, School Education department and colleges for your real world career counselling practices.

Eligibility: Any UG Arts and Science degree from the recognised University

About the Programme: The Department of Extension and Career Guidance has been offering courses at various levels in career guidance which include Master and Doctoral degree programs. There is a need to enhance professional competency of faculty members, assessment coaches in training institutions, placement officers in Colleges and Universities and higher secondary teachers in schools, Hence the department has proposed to offer a Post Graduate Diploma in Career Guidance with 44 credits through Executive mode.

Duration: The Programme is a 1 year Online programme comprises of 70% skill + 30% theory.

Mode: Online Classes comprises of 2 semester (2 to 5 Days of Offline for semester examinations alone). 

Learning Method: A hands-on training on Career Diary Preparation, School and college Career counselling, Mid-Career Counselling, Placement and Abroad admission counselling, Psychometric tools learning and video based counselling techniques.

Eligibility: Working Professionals with any UG degree from the recognised University are eligible to apply the programme.
