Recognition of Department by various agencies

The competence of the department over the years has been recognized by the Central and State Governments.
As a hall mark, University Grants Commission has recognized the department as a “Centre with Potential for Excellence in Particular Area (CPEPA) and sanctioned Rs. 3.5 Crores to establish research facilities to carry out specialized research on “Solar energy materials and devices”.
CPEPA (2016-21)  ~  354 Lakhs

At National level, Government of India opulently supports the Department through the Scheme of DST-FIST (Levels 0 and 1)
Level – I (2014-19)      87 Lakhs

The University grants commission has supported this department under special assistance program at the level of SAP DRS I 

DRS – I (2016-21) ~   128  Lakhs

The department was also supported under the DST-PURSE programme during Phase-I & Phase -II.

Apart from these major funding, faculty members operate major research projects from various funding agencies like UGC, CSIR, DST, DRDO, BRNS, UGC-DAE CSR and international agencies.
