• The Department of Women’s Studies in collaboration with In-service Training Centre, Coimbatore (ISTC) conducted a three days seminar (from 26/02/13 to 28/02/13) on “Gender Sensitization for Police Personnel” at In-Service Training Centre.
• The Department of Women’s Studies, Bharathiar University conducted awareness programme on Child Rights” in collaboration with National Child Labour Project, Coimbatore on 18.10.2012 at Gondhi Nagar, Sundarapuram, Coimbatore.
• The Department of Women’s Studies coordinated a twenty one day Refresher Course on Women’s Studies from 28 Nov to 18 Dec 2012 organized by the Academic Staff College of Bharathiar University.
• Computer literacy Training for school students was conducted for six weeks from 2^nd May to 8^th June 2012 with an approved syllabus for level I and level II of MS office 2007.
• The Department of Women’s Studies organized the Coaching class on SPSS Package for students of MA Women’s Studies from 1^st to 30^th March 2012 (Scheduled Castes and Scheduled tribes and Minority Communities).
• The Department of Women’s Studies organized a seminar on “Protection of Women from Domestic Violence - Act 2005” at Bharathiar University on 20^th March 2012.

• Department of Women’s Studies organized Poster/ Essay Writing/ Short Story Writing/ Debate/ Street Play/ Skit Competitions on Women Empowerment at KG Arts and Science College on 04.02.2012, PKR Arts College for Women on 08.02.2012, Maharani Arts and Science Women’s College on 16.02.2012 and Hindusthan College of Arts and Science 24.02.2012 on wide ranging themes which include health, education, infanticide, employment, inequality in wages, women related laws, gender violence etc. All competitions were judged by the panel of experts. Around 700 men and women students from 34 colleges took part in the competitions.
