Genetic Analyzer 8 Capillary Sanger DNA Sequencer

BU - DNA sequencing facility is established with the support of DST PURSE (Phase - II) Program. It functions in a state-of-the-art facility with a 1200 sq ft footprint.

The facility houses ABI 3500 DNA Analyzer from ABI and several other accessories managed by Thermo Fisher Scientific trained professionals.

Additional Services: PCR Product Cleanup, 16s r RNA gene bacterial & ITS based fungal sequencing

Data Output:

• The DNA sequencing data output will be given in base sequence
• Chromatograms will be provided upon request that shows different colors for the four nucleotides A T G C

Sample Preparation Guidelines:

1. Quality check using gel electrophoresis and nanodrop is recommended for PCR products
2. Submit 50 microlitres of PCR product and 10 microlitres of primer per reaction for sequencing respectively
3. Primer: 10 pmol / microlitre (T_m = 50 deg, 50 % GC content) with 18 to 24 bases

• The sequencing analysis is performed by Thermo - ABI certified professionals.
• The DNA sequencing facility is open during weekdays from 9.30 am to 5.30 pm for sample submission in person.
• The turnaround time for DNA sequencing of sequence-ready products will be within 3 to 4 days from the receipt of the sample.
• The samples can be submitted directly or through courier with the proper pacing guidelines
