Bharathiar University also supports research by providing seed money for the development and enhancement of research infrastructure to meet international standards. The University provides annual grant of Rs. 20–30 lakh for every Science Departments, and Rs. 5–10 lakhs to Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences. Students and faculty members pay visits and take up research training in abroad institutions collaborated with Bharathiar University periodically with research and in-person support from the University.

Bharathiar University is a premier academic and research institution that has always set the benchmark through every endeavour of past and present. The rankings, research infrastructure, publications of the faculty members, research outcomes put forward by the students, recognitions received by the faculty members, extramural funding support received by the University, and funding support from Government and non-government agencies all support  the above statement.
